Volunteer at Laconia Little League

Board Members

Board members are elected each October for a one year term. In addition to their board position duties, board members work 4-5 nights per summer as Officer of the Day at the fields. Board positions include:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Information Officer
  • Safety Officer
  • Sponsorship Director
  • Player Agent
  • Umpire in Chiefs
  • Division Directors - Teeball, Instructional (Coach-Pitch), Baseball Divisions

Manager

The manager of a team is ultimately responsible for the team.  The manager drafts the team (in tryout divisions, schedules and plans the practices, organizes team volunteers (coaches, team parents, scorekeeper, etc.), coaches the team, and is the primary contact between the league and the team.

Coach

A coach helps the manager coach the team and performs any other duties assigned by the manager.  A manager can recruit as many coaches as needed but there may only be two coaches with the manager in the dugout during a game.

Team Parent

A team parent is someone who wants to help out with the team any way he/she can.  They help out during practices, volunteer to umpire the field when necessary, coordinates treat ticket schedules, etc.  If they team parent interacts with the players, a volunteer application needs to be completed so a background check can be done.

Umpire

LLL utilizes trained adults to be umpires for many of the upper divisions and they volunteer their time.  For Tee - ball and Instructional (Coach-Pitch) divisions, coaches call the outs.  Umpires are assigned by the Umpire-in-Chief for the individual divisions.

Concession Runner

A concession runner helps the cashiers in the concession stand by filling orders, bagging popcorn and hotdogs, etc.  A typical shift would be 2 1/2 - 3 hours per night.  We would need to know how many shifts you are interested in working so you can be scheduled by the concession director.
